The PLTG Project Is Prepared To Increase Bali's Electricity Supply
JAKARTA - PT PLTG Celukan Bawang and Shanghai Electric Group Corp (SEC) signed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) investment cooperation. The signing was carried out by the President Director of PT PLTG Celukan Bawang Hendrianto and the President Director of PT SEC Yi Xiaorong.
The signing of the cooperation in front of President Moeldoko's Chief of Staff was carried out in order to strengthen Bali in electricity affairs. That way, Balinese people no longer need to worry about sudden power cuts.
The US $ 1.3 billion project will support the tourism sector in Bali. The gas-fired power plant (PLTG) construction project will be built on 50 hectares of land in Celukan Bawang Village, Buleleng Bali and will start in the first half of 2020.
Later, the PLTG operation will use a combined cycle gas turbine plant technology, where the heat from the PLTG exhaust gas can produce steam. This could increase the electricity supply from 350 MWx2 to 440 MWx2.
The construction of the PLTG project is predicted to be completed in three years. Hendrianto promised, PT PLTG Celukan Bawang will prioritize local workers for the construction of this project.
