Police Attend Pretrial Trial Of 85 Year Old Perpetrator Of Obscenity
JAKARTA - A police officer in the field of law attended the pretrial hearing of the alleged molestation suspect with the initials AS, aged 85. He sexually abused a disabled person at the Raba Bima District Court, West Nusa Tenggara.
The Head of Law for the NTB Regional Police, Kombes Abdul Azas Siagian, said that the agenda for today's session was related to reading the answers from the respondent.
"Yes, this morning the hearing on the agenda for reading the answers from us as the respondent," said Azas, Tuesday, July 5, quoted from Antara.
In the respondent's response, he confirmed that the representatives of the legal team who were present at the trial had prepared solid material regarding the US suspect's lawsuit.
"In the petition from the applicant, the investigator considers that the investigator violated the procedure in determining the suspect. We have already answered that in the applicant's material," he said.
This includes the material for the US lawsuit which assesses that the investigators of the Bima City Police Criminal Investigation Unit were wrong in issuing the detention warrant.
"Regarding the detention process, there is already evidence. We have conveyed that at the trial," he said.
The alleged obscene act by the US occurred in May 2022 in Bima Kota. The victim of this case is a person with a disability who is a neighbor of the perpetrator.
In that case, the US was accused of Article 82 paragraph of Law Number 17/2016 concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulation in lieu of Law Number 1/2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 23/2002 concerning Child Protection.
From this case, the US had become a victim of public outcry. But the police quickly responded to the incident by securing the US.
However, as a result of the incident, the police were unable to contain the residents who vented their anger by setting fire to US homes.
