If There Were No Cleaners, UPS Bank DKI ATM In Koja Jakut Would Have Been Stolen
JAKARTA - The police arrested one of the two perpetrators suspected of stealing an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) machine at a DKI bank automated teller machine (ATM) in South Tugu, Koja, North Jakarta (Jakut). The perpetrator is known to have the initials IL (23).
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Koja Police, AKP Yayan Heri said the incident occurred on Monday, July 4. The incident began when the cleaning staff suspected the perpetrator's behavior at one of the BRI Bank ATMs in South Tugu.
"Initially, the perpetrator entered the BRI ATM with the mode of repairing the machine," Yayan said when confirmed, Tuesday, July 5.
When the cleaning staff of Bank BRI asked for the identity card of the perpetrator, but he could not show it.
"Asked what to fix, the perpetrator answered that the perpetrator repaired the Bank DKI ATM machine. Suspicious, when asked about his identity, the perpetrator did not have the identity of the employee. Then the cleaning service secured him," said Yayan.
After being secured, soon Bhabinsa came and interrogated the perpetrator. It turned out that IL had succeeded in stealing the UPS ATM machine of Bank DKI on the same day in a different place.
"Previously, they had stolen the ATMs of Bank DKI, in South Tugu as well. The ones at Bank BRI's ATMs have not been successful," said Yayan.
Yayan admitted that there were actually two perpetrators, but one other perpetrator managed to escape. They are currently pursuing the perpetrators.
"The perpetrators of 2 people only 1 can be arrested," he concluded.
