NTB Police Receives AW-169 Helicopter Grant, Ready To Monitor Illegal Mining
JAKARTA - The National Police's Polairud Baharkam donated a Leonardo (AgustaWestland) Helicopter AW-169 to the West Nusa Tenggara Police on the Commemoration of the 76th Anniversary of Bhayangkara.
"So on this 76th Bhayangkara Day, the National Police Headquarters through Korpolairud Baharkam provided air operational assistance to us to support security in Mandalika which the President has designated as one of the super priority destinations in Indonesia," said the Director of Polairud Polda NTB Police Commissioner Kobul Syahrin Ritonga in Mataram, Tuesday, July 5, quoted from Antara.
With the support of air security operational facilities, he said, the NTB Police provided a special hangar to accommodate the AW-169 helicopter.
The hangar with the name of the NTB Police Tough Fighter was also inaugurated by the NTB Police Chief Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto at the Bhayangkara 76th Anniversary Commemoration event.
"This hangar is prepared as a complementary means to place helicopters so that they are protected from rain and heat so that their service life can be long," he said.
At the moment of commemorating the anniversary of Bhayangkara, Kobul assured that the Polairud ranks would do a better job, particularly in maintaining public security and order (kamtibmas).
"Especially with the operational support for securing the AW-169 helicopter, in the future we will be more enthusiastic in maintaining public security and order, especially by air," he said.
According to him, with operational support from the National Police Headquarters, the task of the Polairud Directorate of the NTB Police will be easier, especially in terms of monitoring.
"For example, monitoring traffic jams, illegal logging, illegal mining, and disasters, we can monitor all of them by air," he said.
He assured that the AW-169 Helicopter is very supportive of the task in the field. Not only on land, but in water areas.
"So the AW-169 helicopter is made for many things, namely monitoring from the air, SAR evacuation and social activities, such as distributing aid to isolated areas. Our pilots can be relied on to get fast and accurate information," said Kobul.
Kobul assured that the presence of the AW-169 helicopter has now completed the operational means of securing Polairud. So far the security facilities owned by Polairud are only for water areas.
He said the NTB Polda Ditpolairud and district/city level police units have 38 security vessels consisting of C2 type fast boats and rubber boats.
