DPR Leader Asks Commission III To Supervise ACT Polemic Investigation
JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has asked for the polemic of Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) regarding the alleged misappropriation of donation funds to be thoroughly investigated. Dasco urges law enforcement to act decisively in dealing with this problem.
"We urge law enforcement agencies to take firm action against this alleged misappropriation of people's funds. Not only ACT, if there is misappropriation of people's funds, of course we are concerned and must be investigated thoroughly, because those who donate hope that the funds are used to the maximum extent for the interests of those in need," said Dasco at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 5.
The chairman of the DPR, the coordinator of the Economic and Financial Sector (Korekku), asked Commission III of the DPR to oversee the investigation carried out by the police. Dasco also appealed to the public not to speculate regarding this polemic.
"To the technical commission, in this case the Legal Commission, Commission III to participate in supervising the law enforcement carried out by the police," said Dasco.
"It's enough for the wider community, don't speculate too much, just leave it to law enforcement officials, we ask law enforcement officers to investigate thoroughly," he appealed.
In addition, the Daily Chair of Gerindra DPP also suggested that ACT's finances be audited.
"Then it will be done automatically if there are allegations of misappropriation in that direction, of course the police will ask to be audited and cooperate with PPATK to prove whether the allegations are true or not," said Dasco.
As to whether it needs to be disbanded or not, Dasco leaves that to the results of the investigation. "The issue of whether or not to be dissolved depends on the results of the investigation," he concluded.
Previously, the President of Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Ibnu Khajar apologized to the donors and the Indonesian people for the news that was published in the July 2, 2022 edition of Tempo magazine which stated that there had been embezzlement of public donations by ACT officials.
"One thing we want to convey is an extraordinary apology to the public. Maybe some people are not comfortable with some of the news that is currently happening," said Ibnu Khajar at a press conference held at his office in Jakarta, Monday, April 4. July.
"We thank Tempo magazine for all the reporting that has been done. Above all, of course it should be of benefit to all of us. There are many valuable lessons that can be lessons for all of us," said Ibnu.
Ibnu Khajar emphasized that ACT is a humanitarian institution that has received permission from the Ministry of Social Affairs, not an amil zakat institution whose license is from the national Amil Zakat and Infaq Agency (Baznas) or the Ministry of Religion. ACT has been active in more than 47 countries and channeled the generosity of generosity through various humanitarian programs in the fields of education, economy, health, and emergency.
According to Ibnu, ACT's financial condition is healthy, and since its establishment on April 21, 2005, it has consistently conducted regular audits. During 2005 to 2020, ACT obtained the title of unqualified audit (WTP).
He claimed that the WTP title showed that the financial management at ACT was running well. He added that ACT's audited financial reports from 2005 to 2020 have been published on the ACT official website.
He also revealed the resignation of the previous President of ACT, Achyudin, on January 11 at the request of all institutional leaders at the central and regional levels. Ibnu Khajar emphasized that this process is part of efforts to improve ACT in the future.
