Allow Village Funds For PMK Management, Mendes PDTT: What Matters Is That The Vaccine Is Legal
JAKARTA - The Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Mendes PDTT), Abdul Halim Iskandar revealed that village funds can be used in tackling foot and mouth disease (PMK) in livestock.
"Village funds can be used to treat PMK, the important thing is that the vaccine is legal," said the Minister of Des PDTT at a press conference on village funds which was attended in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, July 4.
He added that the allocation of village funds for handling PMK could be included in disasters or food security matters.
He said that his ministry had carried out monitoring in several areas so that the handling was based on what was happening in the field.
"I have assigned the director (Director General of the Ministry of Villages PDTT), I have assigned the closest one, such as Banten, to look for a model for handling PMK and immediately conduct an investigation," he said.
Separately, Head of the Soekarno Hatta Type C Customs Main Service Office, Finari Manan, said that as many as 94 thousand doses of the third stage of the Mouth and Nail Disease (PMK) vaccine arrived in the country via Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Sunday at 15.42 WIB.
The dose of Aftopor's PMK vaccine, which is specific for the treatment of diseases in livestock, was sent from France.
"In total, for phase three, there are 94 thousand doses of PMK vaccine originating from France, and this completes the series of imports of 3,104 thousand," he said.
He said that of the 94 thousand doses of PMK vaccination, the Ministry of Agriculture will directly distribute it to various regions or provinces in Indonesia as an effort to accelerate the handling of foot and mouth disease in livestock.
