Man From Kapok Muara Dies Struck By Lightning While Fishing In Adem River, Jakarta
JAKARTA - A man with the initials SG (42) was killed by a lightning strike while fishing in Kali Adem, Pejaringan, North Jakarta. The head of the Sunda Kelapa Police, Kompol Riza Sativa, confirmed the incident. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 3, at 09.30 WIB.
"The information is that he was struck by lightning. Yesterday he was immediately taken to the hospital by a member of the Polair (Water Police)," said Riza when contacted by VOI, Monday, July 4.
Riza explained that Polair officers who were on patrol received reports from the public that there was a man's body suspected of having been struck by lightning.
Polair and members of the Sunda Kelapa Police who received the report immediately went to the location to find out the truth.
"(It turned out to be true) there were victims, then members immediately evacuated and brought them to the RSCM," he said.
Riza admitted that he did not know clearly about the condition of the victim. Because the case was handled by the Ditpolair Polda Metro Jaya.
"If I didn't see the physical condition directly, maybe I could ask the investigator in charge of Polair to make sure. But the latest information from the public is that the person concerned was struck by lightning," he explained.
Based on the testimony of local residents, said Riza, the victim was struck by lightning during high rain conditions.
"The victim was a resident of Kapuk Muara, the information was that the victim was fishing, then he was struck when it was raining," he said.
Now the victim has been taken to the RSCM, Central Jakarta for a post-mortem. To find out the real thing.
