After Appearing Rejection And Protests From Residents, Central Jakarta City Government Socializes Changes In Street Names
JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta City Government disseminated the change in street names at eight points to affected residents.
"It will be socialized again and we will hold a meeting with related parties on Monday tomorrow," said Deputy Mayor of Central Jakarta, Irwandi when contacted by Antara in Jakarta, Sunday.
Irwandi said that the South Jakarta city government plans to summon all RT and RW heads whose areas are affected by the change in street names.
According to him, this outreach to residents is an effort to ensure that the change in street names will not harm the community.
The Central Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-Department (Dukcapil) recorded that as many as 654 residents were affected by the change in street names set by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
There are at least eight roads in Central Jakarta that have changed their names, namely Jalan Srikaya (Kebon Sirih) to Jalan Mahbub Djunaidi; Buntu Street (Musi Street) became Raden Ismail Street; Jalan Tanah Tinggi I Gang 5 becomes A. Hamid Arief; Jalan Senen Raya became H. Imam Sapi'e.
Then, Jalan SMP 76 (State Printing) became Jalan Abdullah Ali; North side of Jalan Kebon Kacang Raya becomes M. Mashabi; Jalan Kebon Kacang Raya on the south side became Jalan M. Saleh Ishak and Jalan Cikini VII became Tino Sidin.
Of the eight roads, only five of them have residents or residences, namely Jalan Senen Raya, Jalan Musi Cideng, Jalan Tanah Tinggi and Jalan Percetakan Negara.
Meanwhile, the change in the name of this road previously reaped the rejection of residents from one area.
Fajri, Head of Rukun Tetangga (RT) 10 Rukun Warga (RW) 06, Tanah Tinggi, Johar Baru, stated that he refused to change the name of the street in the area where he lived, which used to be called Jalan Tanah Tinggi I Gang 5 and then became Jalan A. Hamid Arief.
"We refused because many of our documents had to be replaced, it required funds and time," said Fajri.
According to Fajri, residents of RT 10 RW 06 Tanah Tinggi, have never been involved in socializing the change in street names in their area.
Previously, the Head of the Population and Civil Registration Sub-Department (Dukcapil) Rosjik Muhammad admitted that he had carried out socialization beforehand to the people affected by the road changes.
The Central Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-dept. will also pick up the ball or visit locations affected by the name change.
That way, people don't need to go to the local kelurahan office, they just need to bring a photocopy of their ID card and family card to the mobile service of the Central Jakarta Dukcapil Sub-dept.
"In principle, we will be present to the community, we will convey it at one point, later we will invite the community. We will pick up the ball to the changed locations," said
