Anies Baswedan And Ridwan Kamil Invite The Young Generation To Take An Active Role In The G20 Forum

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil appealed to the younger generation to play an active role in the G20 forum.

Youth-related issues that Indonesian youth can consider include digital transformation, future jobs, sustainability and building a livable planet, and unity and diversity.

Hopefully the G20 leaders can accommodate the messages and ideas of the youth, said Anies in a virtual press conference with Kamil on the sidelines of the Youth 20 (Y20) Summit in Jakarta, Saturday.

"Jakarta fully supports the G20 Summit, and we hope that Y20 colleagues can make a communiqué and present it to the President as chairman of the G20," said Anies Baswedan, as quoted by Antara.

The Y20 summit is very important now because Jakarta and West Java are important regions, added Baswedan. Therefore, the communiqué will be a joint statement or agreement that will determine the direction of the Y20 Summit.

“Jakarta is a diverse city from a sociological and economic perspective. We are ready to facilitate participants to feel the unity of this city. Unity is built from diversity," he said.

Meanwhile, Kamil said the future belongs to the youth. Therefore, the senior generation must guard this moment as well as possible to pass on a better future to them.

Kamil highlighted peace and the spirit of anti-colonialism.

"Those messages have to get to the highest decision makers," he said.

Anies Baswedan and Ridwan Kamil ensured that the province and its people were ready to support Y20 in terms of budget and space.
