Labor Demo Dissolved, Officer Cleans Horse Statue Area
JAKARTA - A mass of workers staging a demonstration against the Work Creation Law in the area of the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue disbanded. Now it is the officers' turn to clean the location after the demonstration.
From VOI's observation, Monday, November 2, it was seen that DKI Jakarta Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling Workers (PPSU) began cleaning up trash left over from the demonstration in the Horse Statue area.
Currently, the traffic flow for vehicles from the direction of Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan to Jalan Budi Kemerdekaan has been passed, and vice versa. Police officers also control traffic at the Horse Statue roundabout.
Meanwhile, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat and part of Jalan MH Thamrin are still closed to vehicles. This is because there are still demonstrations in front of the French Embassy until this afternoon.
It is known that today's action was held by a group of workers who are members of a group of KSPI, KSPSI, and Gekanas in the Horse Statue area. During the action, trade union representatives came to the building of the Constitutional Court to submit a written statement regarding the proposed suit for judicial review and formal review of the Job Creation Law.
The President of KSPI Said Iqbal said that this statement of attitude was made to warn the Constitutional Court Judges to be fair when the labor union filed a judicial review.
"This statement of stance basically states that the labor group asks the Constitutional Justices to make the fairest decisions they can, regardless of any interests except the interests of the state," said Iqbal, Monday, November 2.
Iqbal said that actually his party was ready to bring the material review file which would be submitted to the Constitutional Court. However, unfortunately until now the Ministry of Law and Human Rights has not given the numbering to the Job Creation Law. Thus, only a statement of attitude was recently submitted.
"Because there is no number, KSPSI and KSPI were forced to submit this lawsuit file, but apparently we could not do it because we had to wait for the number issued by the government," he said.
In the near future, Iqbal said that the labor unions that are members of the KSPI, KSPSI and Gekanas will resume their action in front of the DPR Building on November 9.
