On the last day of the selection process for the U-19 Indonesia national team, Friday, January 17, the head coach of the senior national team, Shin Tae-yong, revealed this.
However, regarding the selected players to enter the Indonesia U-19 national team, Tae-yong said it would be announced one day after today.
"Dozens of players have previously been sent home, because there are indications of injury and do not want them to be hit again, the rest is currently there, I want to be more confident so that I can choose them well," said Tae-yong as quoted from the official PSSI website.
"There are 28 players who will later be brought to Chiang Mai. I was going to select 30 people, but now I have 28 players. Who are the players, it can be known the day after, through the PSSI website," he continued.
Even though there were two players who were crossed out, Tae-yong - who from the first day continued to monitor the selection - revealed that the players had improved their stamina and physical condition.
"So since starting the first practice on Monday, just warm up after that the matches are carried out continuously every day. I see that each individual player's ability position is different, ”explained Tae-yong.
“Before and after seeing the players, my thoughts were different. After being with me, their abilities have been very good from the first day until now, they have improved in terms of their abilities, stamina and physique, "he said.

For information, as many as 54 players born in 2001 and 2002 participated in the U-19 national team selection at the Wibawa Mukti Stadium from January 13 to 17. All 28 players who have passed the selection will depart for the White Elephant Country on January 20, 2020.
This year, the Indonesian U-19 national team will take part in the U-19 AFF Cup, whose time has not been determined, and the 2020 U-19 Asian Cup which will be held on 14-31 October 2020 in Uzbekistan.
After that, Garuda Nusantara prepares to appear at the 2021 U-20 World Cup.
Since being appointed as the head coach of the senior national team, Tae-yong has also helped supervise the U-16, U-19 and U-23 national teams. Tae-yong and his assistant collaborate with the national coach appointed by PSSI.
