BPJS Health Confirms Not To Change Contribution Rates Related To Standard Inpatient Class
JAKARTA - Temporary Substitute Head of Public Relations for BPJS Kesehatan, Arif Budiman, confirmed that until now there has been no discourse on changing the nominal amount of participant contributions following the Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS) trial in July 2022.
"Currently there is no discourse on changing the contribution. The scheme and the amount of the fee are still the same as before," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 1.
Arif said the BPJS Health membership fee scheme refers to Presidential Regulation Number 64 of 2020 concerning the Second Amendment to Presidential Regulation Number 82 of 2018 concerning Health Insurance, that the amount of contributions is determined based on the type of participation of each participant in the JKN program.
For the poor and underprivileged who are registered as Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI), he said, the contribution of Rp. 42,000 is paid by the central government with the contribution of the regional government according to the fiscal strength of each region.
For Wage Recipient Workers (PPU) participants or formal workers, both state administrators, such as ASN, TNI, Polri and private workers, the contribution is five percent of wages, with details of four percent being paid by the employer and one percent by the worker.
"For the calculation of these contributions, the lower limit is also applied, namely the district/city minimum wage and the upper limit of Rp. 12 million. So the calculation of contributions from one's income only applies to the type of PPU membership, formal workers who receive regular wages from their employers," he said.
For groups of participants in the informal sector who do not have a fixed income, they are grouped as Non-Wage Recipient Workers (PBPU) and Non-Workers (BP).
For this type of participation, said Arif, participants can choose the amount of dues they want. Class 1 is IDR 150,000 per person per month, class 2 is IDR 100,000 per person per month, and class 3 is IDR 35,000 per person per month.
"It should also be noted that specifically for class 3 PBPUs, they actually receive assistance from the government in the amount of Rp. 7,000 per person per month, so that in fact the total is Rp. 42,000," he said.
Arif added that someone who has no income or no income can choose to become a PBPU participant with a choice of class 1, 2, or 3.
"Or if you fall into the category of poor and incapable people recorded in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), you can enter the PBI participant group whose contributions are paid by the government," he said.
