Chelsea And Arsenal Bite Fingers, Tottenham Hotspur Officially Sign Richarlison And Everton
JAKARTA - Tottenham Hotspur have officially signed Richarlison from Everton. Spurs tied him with a long-term contract until 2027.
BBC Sport reports that the 25-year-old is believed to have arrived for a transfer fee of £60 million.
"️We are delighted to announce the signing of Richarlison from Everton," Spurs wrote on their official Twitter.
The 25-year-old scored 10 goals and provided five assists as he helped Everton avoid relegation last season.
Overall, he scored 43 goals in 135 league appearances for the Toffees after joining them from Watford in July 2018.
The versatile forward, born in Nova Venecia, started his youth career at Real Noroeste and América Futebol Clube before making his professional debut in July 2015.
He joined Fluminense in January 2016. During his time at the club he scored 11 goals in 46 appearances and was named the Campeonato Carioca Team of the Year after helping his team reach the final of the competition in his second season.
In August 2017, Richarlison moved to Watford. In his first season he immediately won the trust to appear in 38 matches in the Premier League.
He then moved to Everton and successfully marked his debut with two goals in a 2-2 draw against Wolves.
At the Merseyside club he managed to register as the joint top scorer in all competitions in the first two seasons. Moreover, his goals tally has been in double digits in three of the four seasons he has spent with the Toffees since joining in July 2018.
On the international stage, Richarlison made his senior debut for Brazil in September 2018. During that time, he came on as a second-half substitute in their 2-0 win over the United States.
With the Samba team, Richarlison has made 36 appearances and scored 14 goals.
