Man In Buleleng Bali Who Abused Ex-Girlfriend Freed Through Restorative Justice

BULELENG - The man with the initials KR (19) who abused his ex-girlfriend MWR (25) was released by the police through a restorative justice process.

Head of Public Relations of the Buleleng Police, Bali, AKP Gede Sumarjaya said the MWR victim withdrew his report. The police also stopped investigating the alleged abuse case.

"With the peace letter signed by both parties and the two perbekel (village heads) know and the revocation of the complaint report from the victim. So based on the National Police Chief Regulation (Perkap) 08 of 2021 regarding the handling of criminal acts based on restorative justice (RJ), today the case is resolved," said Sumarjaya, Thursday, June 30.

After the perpetrator and the victim made a statement of peace, the two immediately went to the Sawan Police, Buleleng. The victim withdraws the report.

"After making a peace statement, they went to the Polsek to make a revocation. So, the peace mediation was not at the Polsek," he said.

Previously, the Buleleng, Bali Resort Police team arrested the perpetrator with the initials KR (19) who abused his ex-girlfriend with the initials MWR (25).
