Bahlil Inaugurates An Electric Cigarette Factory From China Worth IDR1.12 Trillion In Malang: I Ask Local MSMEs To Be Involved
JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia attended the inauguration of an electric cigarette production facility from China, PT Smoore Technology Indonesia (STI) worth Rp1.12 trillion in Malang Regency, East Java, Thursday 30 June.
The factory, which was built with a land area of 6 hectares, is the 14th factory built by Smoore International, with an investment plan of US$ 80 million or Rp. 1.12 trillion.
Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia expressed his appreciation for PT STI's commitment in realizing its investment plan to improve the economy in Malang Regency, East Java.
However, Bahlil also reminded the need for collaboration with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the regions.
"Please involve MSMEs and local entrepreneurs. Give them support. Good investments, big ones can lift small ones. So please, we need cooperation. We need collaboration. We need job opportunities, but also space for local children to grow. make maximum use of it to become masters in their own country," he said, quoted from Antara.
Smoore International, headquartered in Shenzhen City, China, is one of the largest e-cigarette manufacturers in the world with a global e-cigarette market share of 18.9 percent.
The factory, which will be built in Malang Regency, is the first producer of alto pods in Indonesia.
The plant will consist of 16 production lines of alto pods with advanced technology and capable of producing 7,200 units per line per hour and an estimated production value of 860 million US dollars per year.
President Director of PT STI Clayton Shen expressed his gratitude for the support of the Government of Indonesia, in particular the Ministry of Investment / BKPM for the import duty exemption facility on the import of machines given to PT STI.
With these facilities, it is hoped that PT STI can immediately start commercial production as planned.
"We hope that this investment can be realized properly and provide benefits for many parties, as well as contribute to national economic growth, especially for the economy in Malang Regency through creating job opportunities for the surrounding community," said Clayton.
The establishment of this factory aims to meet the increasing demand for products worldwide, as well as a strategy for long-term expansion.
In addition, Smoore International also plans to make Indonesia as its investment center in Southeast Asia.
