Very Similar, Check Out Lukman Sardi's Appearance As Ismail Marzuki In The Monologue Of Humming At The Edge Of The Revolution
JAKARTA - Director and writer Agus Noor collaborated with Lukman Sardi to portray the character of Ismail Marzuki in the monologue show, Ismail Marzuki: Senandung at the Edge of the Revolution. Lukman was chosen because he can play the violin.
"Let's compile a list of Indonesian actors who can play the violin. That's Lukman Sardi," said Agus when met at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Wednesday night (29/6).
"Training the violin from scratch takes two years to sound the correct G note. That's the reason. Nothing but that. Incidentally, the posture also fits the young Ismail," he added.
Since childhood, Lukman told that he had been taught by his father Idris Sardi to play the violin. Because of that, he also admitted that he was happy to be able to play the violin again in Ismail Marzuki: Senandung at the Edge of the Revolution.
"Maybe papa in heaven said, 'You've played the violin again'. Then came the offer to play the violin. It's true that the violin hasn't been touched for a long time. But that doesn't mean it's not at all. It's just like a reminder again. Papa's basic is the violin. Especially for long notes," said Lukman.
"In the past, every day at 5 in the morning it was only built for long notes. Until all the strings broke. Now that turned out to help me. Strength in my hands, strength in all kinds of tones is still there. Just deepen it," he continued, quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, June 30.
With the performance of Ismail Marzuki: Senandung at the Edge of the Revolution, Agus hopes that young people can get to know the hero Ismail Marzuki better. In addition, he also hopes that with this the government can pay more attention to the copyrights of artists.
"Hopefully, with this show, young people will get to know Ismail Marzuki better. Biography about Ismail Marzuki happens to be very small, yes. Not too much is written," said Agus.
"Hopefully it will be more complete, have more perspective in seeing Ismail Marzuki and his work. Most importantly, young people will appreciate Ismail Marzuki's works even more. There are many who cover his songs. So hopefully the government can also pay more attention to copyright, " he concluded.
