David Jordan's Optimism Ahead Of Fighting Panya Uthok, Will Beautify The Record Against Thai Boxers
JAKARTA — Boxer Daud Jordan is ready to enter the ring against boxer Panya Uthok. He is also optimistic that he can add to his tenth winning collection against representatives from Thailand.
The duel between Daud Jordan and Panya Uthok will take place at Balai Sarbini, Sudirman, Jakarta, on Thursday, July 1 tomorrow. This fight is for the Asian Boxing Council Silver Super Lightweight (63.5 kg) title.
"Tomorrow I will add to my collection of ten wins against a boxer from Thailand," said the 35-year-old boxer at a press conference held at Balai Sarbini on Wednesday, June 30.
On paper, Daud has faced representatives of Thailand nine times in his professional career. Of that number, this Ketapang-born boxer has never suffered a single defeat.
His most recent victory over Thailand's representatives came in November last year. At that time, Daud defeated Rachata Khaopimai by technical knock out (TKO) in the fifth round to win the WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver Super Lightweight title.
However, the opponent that will be faced tomorrow is not easy for David. Apart from being younger than the end, Panya Uthok also has a series of experiences that are no less flashy.
He was recorded as a world champion in his class and titles such as WBO Aspac and WBO Asia. However, Daud was happy to be able to face an opponent who on a level could make it difficult for him.
"Tomorrow will certainly be a proof for me against an opponent who has a better reputation than me. However, with the support of the Indonesian people, I am sure I can beat him," said Daud.
On a record, Daud currently only suffered four defeats from 46 fights with 29 of them he won by knockout. Meanwhile, Panya Uthok collected 54 wins (36 KOs) and 10 losses.
Daud's fight with Panya Uthok should have been held on March 4 in Thailand. However, at that time Daud Jordan was positive for COVID-19 so their duel was not held and only materialized on Thursday tomorrow.
Tomorrow's fight will also feature an equally exciting match between Indonesian boxer Ongen Saknosiwi and another Thai representative, Jirawat Thammachot.
In addition, there were also three other undercard parties, namely George Lumoly vs Julio Bria (4 rounds), Egi Rozten vs Satria Sandika (4 rounds), and Silem Serang vs Ferengky Rohi (UBO International Championship Party, 10 rounds).
