It Has Been Raining Since Last Wednesday, Hundreds Of Houses In Bengkulu Were Flooded With A Height Of Almost 2 Meters
BENGKULU - Floods inundated residential areas in Sungai Serut Subdistrict, Bengkulu City, Bengkulu Province, following heavy rains on Wednesday, June 29.
Sub-district of Sungai Serut Abriadi said floods hit almost the entire area of Sungai Serut District.
According to him, flooding occurred in Kampung Kelawi Village, Bengkulu Market, Semarang, Surabaya, Tanjung Agung, Tanjung Jaya, and Sukamerindu.
"The locations of the worst floods are in Tanjung Agung Village, Tanjung Jaya Village, and Sukamerindu Village," Abriadi said in Bengkulu, Antara, Thursday, June 30.
According to him, residents' houses began to flood on Thursday at around 03.00 in the morning and the inundation continued to rise up to two meters in certain areas.
"We have not been able to calculate the total number of houses submerged, but it is estimated that there are hundreds of houses," he said.
The village head of Sukamerindu, Rendra Prajadinata, said that at least 130 houses were flooded due to flooding in his area.
"In RT 9 there are 92 houses and in RT 8 there are 32 houses that are flooded," he said.
The Sungai Serut District Government coordinates with the Regional Disaster Management Agency, the Social Service, and other related agencies to distribute aid to residents affected by the flood.
