Extortion Of Unscrupulous Persons At Tirtonadi Terminal Viral, Mas Gibran Admits The Actions Of The Perpetrators Embarrassed The Solo Residents: We Are Anti Extortion!

SOLO - Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka spoke up after an officer went viral for extorting illegal levies (extortion) at the Type A Bus Terminal Tirtonadi Solo, Central Java.

The video of the perpetrator's extortion was captured by a passenger through video footage that was widely distributed on several social media platforms. According to Gibran, the action was clearly embarrassing because it tarnished Solo's good name.

"Yes, it's a shame. I hope there are people there. (But) Let there be firm action from the police," explained Gibran as quoted from the news surakarta Youtube, Thursday, June 30.

Gibran added that his party did not have the authority to take action against extortionists because they were in the line of duty of the Ministry of Transportation.

"Yes, that is the authority of the Ministry of Transportation, I will coordinate with the relevant ministries. The decision (to fire or sanction individuals) is not mine," he explained.

The eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that Solo does not tolerate officers at the City Government who carry out extortion actions. Gibran asked the public for active participation to report if they found this shameful act.

"What is clear is that we are anti-extortion. Anyway, if people see these incidents, they should report them immediately. Don't be afraid. You can take photos or videos," explained Gibran.

Coordinator of Type A Terminal Tirtonadi Joko Sutriyanto said the alleged extortion occurred about a month ago. "It turned out to be an individual, it happened last May but only went viral yesterday," he said in Solo, Wednesday, June 29, as reported by Antara.

In the video that had gone viral on social media, a public bus crew was seen handing a number of letters to an officer. After checking the letters, it was seen that the bus crew had slipped something into the officers' hands.

In this regard, his party has recommended to the Land Transportation Management Center for Region X, Central Java Province and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, so that these individuals receive severe sanctions.

"We recommend the option of terminating the contract because it is a contract worker," he said.

The recommendation was only submitted on Tuesday. This is because the Tirtonadi Terminal must first confirm with a number of related parties. In addition, his party has also questioned the person concerned regarding the reasons for carrying out the alleged extortion.

"He said it was his own initiative, he was surprised that suddenly (the bus crew) handed over a letter, suddenly he was invited to shake hands. So, this person admitted he was hesitant, what is this? For what? want," he said.

Regarding the letter given, according to him, it is usually an administrative completeness for a ramp check. However, he admitted that the person was not actually a ramp check officer.

"Actually, his job is only to record products, only inputs. Actually, it doesn't have anything to do with ramp checks," he said.

Meanwhile, according to the Head of Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) Region X, Central Java and Jogja, Eko Agus Susanto, the person in the video has been confirmed to be fired. The employee with the initials BP is a non-civil servant government employee or PPNPN, not a contract employee.

"From the team it must be issued, the letter is on my desk," he said.
