Jakarta Regional Budget Revenue Soars, Claimed To Help Maintain Economic Recovery Momentum
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reports that until May 2022 the realization of the Jakarta Regional State Budget has reached Rp. 675.57 trillion or 69.68 percent of the set ceiling. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, it was recorded at Rp. 201.31 trillion or 31.56 percent of the target. This caused the capital city to record a regional surplus of Rp.474.26 trillion.
Head of the Regional Office of the South Jakarta Directorate General of Taxes I Dionysius Lucas Hendrawan said the contribution of DKI Jakarta's regional revenues to national revenues reached 67-69 percent. "This shows that DKI Jakarta's regional revenues have a very large contribution nationally to maintain the momentum of economic recovery," he said in a press statement on Thursday, June 30.
According to Lucas, with the Voluntary Disclosure Program (PPS) which is still running, it is hoped that the revenue coffers can continue to grow.
Furthermore, Sri Mulyani's subordinates explained that the performance of APBN revenues, which was getting better, increased by 51.44 percent or Rp. 229.48 trillion compared to the same period in 2021.
"This increase was contributed by domestic revenues, especially from Income Tax (PPh) which rose 72.62 percent or Rp. 142.15 trillion compared to the period of May 31, 2021. country caused by the increase in commodity prices and increased import activities," he said.
Lucas also explained that other factors that supported the increase in revenue performance were the growth in revenues originating from the imposition of export and import duties on export and import processes, such as tobacco products excise (CHT) revenues which rose 113 percent and excise on beverages containing ethyl alcohol (MMEA) which increased by 113 percent. up 32 percent compared to 2021.
"We also found an increase in non-tax state revenues (PNBP) which contributed more than 50 percent due to the sale of state property," he said.
Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta's domestic revenue until May 31, 2022 managed to reach Rp.675.43 trillion or 69.70 percent of the target, up 51.42 percent compared to the same period in 2021. This condition was supported by the realization of taxation of Rp.533.42 trillion or reached 64 .65 percent of the target, up 62.83 percent, especially from Income Tax which rose 72.62 percent.
On the other hand, the realization of export duty receipts or export levies shot past the target with the realization of IDR 136.56 billion or 435.46 percent of the target. The increase in Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) by 19.86 percent with a realization of Rp. 142 trillion contributed to maintaining revenue performance in the DKI Jakarta region.
"Inflation in May 2022 increased by 0.06 percent monthly (month to month/mtm) and 2.27 percent yearly (year on year/yoy) and 1.62 percent throughout this year (year to date). This condition was triggered by the decline in the prices of purebred chicken, cooking oil, and rice after the Lebaran period," Lucas concluded.
