Ministry Of Home Affairs Reprimands 67 Local Governments Due To Violations Of ASN Neutrality In The Pilkada

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) reprimanded 67 regional heads regarding violations of the neutrality of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the holding of the 2020 simultaneous regional elections.

Inspector General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Tumpak Haposan Simanjuntak, said that this warning was included in a letter signed by the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karavian.

"Regional heads who do not follow up on these recommendations will be subject to sanctions, ranging from moral sanctions to disciplinary punishment," said Tumpak in a written statement, Sunday, November 1.

As of 26 October 2020, there are 131 KASN recommendations to 67 local governments that have not been followed up by the regional heads as Civil Service Officers (PPK).

For this, the ASN personnel administration data were blocked, including 10 provincial governments that have not followed up on 16 recommendations, 48 regencies that have not followed up on 104 recommendations, and 9 municipal governments that have not followed up on 11 recommendations.

"PPK that does not implement the KASN recommendations will be subject to sanctions in accordance with statutory provisions," said Tumpak.

In accordance with Government Regulation No.12 of 2017, regional heads are given a maximum of three days to follow up on KASN recommendations after receiving a warning letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
