Masses Of BM PAN Demo Holywings In Medan, Medan City Government Asked To Review Operational Permits
MEDAN - Masses belonging to the Youth Front for the Enforcement of the National Mandate (BM PAN) held a demonstration in front of the Holywings outlet on Jalan Merak Jingga, Medan City. The masses demanded that the Medan City Government revoke the operating license of the entertainment venue.
Demonstrators came carrying banners containing a statement of position and chanting slogans calling for Holywings to be shut down. The demonstrators were escorted by the police.
Head of DPW BM PAN Mora Harahap said the crowd demanded the Medan City Government to review Holywings' operational permit. If there is a problem, Pemko Medan is expected to close Holywings operations.
"Because we see that there are already 2 Holywings in Medan. Why are there so many Holywings here, which needs more mosques. A place for young people to be creative to carry out youth activities. There is no need for a lot of entertainment places, especially Holywings, just throw them out of the way. This field is useless," said Mora, Wednesday, June 29.
The crowd in the action strongly condemned the use of the names Muhammad and Maria to promote Holywings alcohol.
"Because it contains elements of SARA which leads to criminal acts of blasphemy," he said.
The demonstrators also asked Holywings management to stop all forms of promotion that violate religious harmony and take firm action against the perpetrators involved.
Not only that, BM PAN also appreciates Holywings' apology. However, his party continues to encourage and support the steps of the Police in providing strict sanctions and implementing fair and transparent law enforcement.
Until the demonstration ended, Holywings management did not find the masses.
Regarding the Holywings permit, Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, said the permit is still running. However, the Medan City Government has given a warning to Holywings.
"The permit is still running, but we gave a warning yesterday," Bobby told reporters in Medan, Tuesday, June 28
According to Bobby, the reprimand contained an urge to Holywings to apologize to Muslims and Christians in the city of Medan.
