JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin has urged the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to immediately issue a new fatwa related to the use of medical marijuana. It is hoped that the law at the religious level can serve as a guide.
In response to this, the chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for Da'wah and Ukhuwah, Kiai Haji Cholil Nafis, said a study regarding the use of medical marijuana would be carried out. However, this step will be carried out after it receives a request from the government.
"We are waiting for the official request. Then we will respond later and then we will respond to review from the relevant parties," Cholil told reporters, Wednesday, June 29.
