Get Free Service, 645 Residents Of Jalan Mpok Nori, East Jakarta Process Documents For Changing Street Names

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta City Government has stated that it is ready to assist residents in making document changes, as a result of the decision of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan to replace 22 street names with the names of Betawi figures in Jakarta. The service is free, free of charge.

Central Jakarta Mayor Dhany Sukma said that his staff would invite related parties, starting with the National Land Agency, Central Jakarta Immigration, Samsat and Regional Taxes.

"In the near future, we will invite them, all together with the residents. There, residents can directly ask about the document change service regarding the change in street names. All processing of document changes is guaranteed to be free," said Dhany to reporters, Wednesday, June 29.

Dhany said that the current public service base is electronic and digital. With these digital services, services will automatically be integrated with one another.

"One of them is public services related to the Population Identification Number (NIK) such as NPWP, banking services, taxpayers. When the NIK is integrated, the system will automatically connect to the population data," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-Department (Dukcapil), Rosyik Muhammad added, there are around 645 residents who will take care of the Population Administration (Adminduk). All of this is related to the change in the name of the street.

"Currently there are 654 resident data, but that number can go up and down," he said.

Previously reported, Public Policy Observer from Trisakti University, Trubus Rahadiansyah assessed that the policy of changing 22 street names by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan would have a broad impact on administrative management and other important documents.

"This change has a broad impact. The change in the name of the road actually has no urgency, what is it for? When the policy is implemented, it creates problems," Trubus said during a conversation with VOI, last Thursday, June 23.

The problem experienced by the people of Jakarta is the difficulty of managing a number of documents and other population administration. In addition, people are worried about the cost of managing a number of letters and others.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has to bear all the budget. Yes, it has to bear the costs, the administrative costs, get everything free. The provincial government must bear all the costs of changing administrative documents, including other impacts of the name change itself," he said.
