KSP Indosurya Case, Mahfud MD: This Case Is A New Mode Of Crime, Will Not Be Stopped
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD emphasized that law enforcement will not stop the handling of the Indosurya Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP) investment fraud case.
"This case is a new mode of crime that has never been and will not be stopped," he said on his personal Twitter account @mohmahfudmd quoted Wednesday, June 29.
Mahfud said the agreement regarding the handling of the case that would not be stopped was the conclusion of his communication with the National Police Headquarters, the Attorney General's Office, the Center for Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis, and the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Teten Masduki, in response to the public's reaction to the sense of justice in the Indosurya case with two suspects released.
Furthermore, Mahfud explained that the two suspects were released because their detention period had expired. On the other hand, he added, the Attorney General's Office is ensuring that the evidence in court on the case can run smoothly.
He supports the Bareskrim Polri to re-arrest the two suspects in the case.
"We support Bareskrim to arrest 2 more suspects in related cases whose locus and tempus (time and place) are different. The PPATK has been around for a long time, this case must proceed," he said.
Two suspects of KSP Indosurya investment fraud who were released from detention because their detention period had expired 120 days were the founder and chairman of KSP Indosurya, Henry Surya (HS), and the Head of Administration of KSP Indosurya, June Indria (JI).
Although both were released from detention, the Indosurya case is still ongoing, waiting for the dossier to be declared complete (P-21) by the Attorney General's Office. They are also still suspects.
To anticipate that the two suspects would not run away or run away, as did the other suspect, namely the Director of Operations of KSP Indosurya, Suwito Ayub, who was on the wanted list, investigators filed a ban on the two suspects.
Earlier on Tuesday (28/6), the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian Police, Commissioner General of Police Agus Andrianto, had stated that his party was committed to resolving the case of the Indosurya KSP investment fraud.
One of the strategies adopted is to process cases partially and ask investors who are victims to report.
The Police have received complaints from the public/investors through the KSP Indosurya Cipta case handling unit with a total of 181 complaints with 1,262 investors and losses of around Rp4 trillion.
This case began with Surya ordering Indria and Ayub to collect public funds in the form of time deposits using the legal entity KSP Indosurya from November 2012-February 2020.
However, this activity resulted in a default of around Rp. 15.9 trillion with a total of 14,500 investors, according to the audit results from KAP PT Solusi Cemerlang Indonesia.
