More Than 200 Cannabis Tree Trunks Ready To Harvest Police Found At Mount Karuhun Cianjur, Owner Is Being Hunted

CIANJUR - Police in Cianjur, West Java, discovered a marijuana field that was intentionally planted on a hill in Cimenteng Village, Campaka District after receiving reports from local residents.

Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Doni Hermawan said the discovery of the marijuana fields, which were estimated to be ready for harvest next month, amounted to more than 200 stems.

"Receiving the report, we together with the Cianjur Police Satnarkoba visited the exact location in Gunung Karuhun, Cimenteng Village. We found more than two hundred marijuana stalks that were ready to be harvested," he said in Cianjur, Antara, Tuesday, June 28.

When the operation was carried out, the police did not find anyone in the marijuana field, so they asked for eyewitness testimony from local residents to find out who the owner of the marijuana field was.

"We have secured all marijuana stalks to the Cianjur Police Headquarters, then we will explore who the perpetrators or owners of the marijuana land on the hill are called Gunung Karuhun residents. We will ask for testimonies from local residents," he said.

Cianjur Police Narcotics Head AKP Maruf Murdianto said his party found another marijuana field which was quite far from the first field. His party received reports from members in the field that there were three points of marijuana fields on the mountain with a total of hundreds of stems.

"We will continue to search the location of new discoveries at three other points. For now, only 200 more stems have been secured. Our members report that there are three other planting points which are far apart, making it difficult to reach," he said.

He added that he could not confirm how many marijuana stalks were ready to be harvested in the area, because members were assisted by residents who were still exploring other locations where it was also suspected that there were marijuana plants.

"We will coordinate with local officials and local residents to jointly maintain the security and comfort of the area from prohibited plants and drug trafficking. We have been greatly helped by reports from residents so far," said Maruf.
