PDIP Is Committed To Inviting All Parties To Seriously Realize The Planting Movement

JAKARTA - PDI-P has expressed its seriousness to invite all parties, including the government and all Indonesian people, to be serious in working on and implementing steps to strengthen food sovereignty.

Chairman of the DPP PDI Perjuangan for Cultural Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, said that General Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri ordered the planting of trees and plants in order to realize food sovereignty.

"How this planting movement is part of our culture as part of the PDI Perjuangan to continuously plant for food sovereignty," said Risma when opening a National Education Meeting entitled Tree Planting Movement for PDI-P Regional Heads throughout Indonesia, Saturday, October 31.

Risma revealed that food sovereignty is needed to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Because, this pandemic is said to trigger a food crisis. In addition, the Mayor of Surabaya explained that the PDIP planting movement was directed more towards rice companions.

"This planting movement is directed at companion rice. There are several types of plants that can be planted. I said earlier in Surabaya we have planted companion rice, so it is not a substitute for rice. Therefore, it is used for when we are short on food, especially rice. This companion can be used. so that we can stay without hunger or shortage of materials in our respective areas, "said Risma.

Risma then gave an example of what she did in Surabaya, so that the City of Heroes has food reserves of up to 103 tons per year. He said, the land owned by the Surabaya City Government was planted with good plant seeds and then cared for properly. Based on this experience, he then emphasized that large areas of land were not needed to plant food reserves.

Meanwhile, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said his party's steps were to reaffirm the character of his party for society. "Today we are reaffirming the people's character, humanitarian character, the mutual cooperation of all party cadres to carry out the direction of the General Chairperson on how to do politics for the PDI-P is present in a populist face, helping the people by mutual cooperation," he said.

Hasto appreciates that many regional heads from PDIP have carried out well Megawati Soekarnoputri's direction to plant plants, especially those that can function as food reserves.

"Earlier, various reports have been submitted from our regional heads. Alhamdulillah, the directions from the General Chairperson have been carried out well," explained Hasto.

Regarding this food, he continued, PDIP has even issued two books containing the issue of food sovereignty. This was due to the cooperation of Risma, then Wasekjen PDIP Sadarestuwati, as well as the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Sri Rahayu and Yanti Sukamdani.
