Sedan Car Breaks Through The Grand Mosque
JAKARTA - A sedan broke into the courtyard of the southern area of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday, October 30 evening local time. The car crashed into one of the doors.
Saudi Arabian authorities were reported to have immediately arrested a man driving the car after pulling him out of the car, according to a report by Saudi Arabia's national news agency SPA quoted by Antara, Saturday, October 31.
According to initial reports, the car was traveling at high speed on the road around the southern courtyard of the Grand Mosque, SPA wrote, citing the official spokesman for the Makkah region, Sultan Al-Dossari.
Al-Dossari said the incident occurred at around 22.30 local time. According to the same report, no victim was injured as a result of the incident.
Investigators said the driver of the car was a Saudi citizen who was "in an abnormal condition" - and was being handed over to the General Prosecutor's office.
