Shanghai Disneyland Reopens The Day After Tomorrow: Limited Capacity, Visitors Must Show Negative COVID-19 Test Results
JAKARTA - The famous amusement park Shanghai Disney Resort, owned by Walt Disney Co., announced it would reopen its services on June 30, a month after local authorities lifted a two-month COVID-19 lockdown, in an announcement Tuesday.
Shanghai Disneyland has been closed since March 21, due to an increase in the city's COVID-19 infection cases. When city authorities lifted the lockdown on June 1, the resort started opening some areas more than a week later.
The resort said in a statement it would resume ticket sales on Wednesday. The level of capacity will be controlled, although it has not been determined how much.
However, some interactive rides, such as the Marvel Universe, will remain closed, the resort added.
In addition, everyone who enters must also show evidence of a negative COVID-19 test taken within the last 72 hours to be able to enter the area, he said.
It is known, the new wave of COVID-19 cases since March prompted the Chinese government to take decisive action to stop the spread, including closing many public places in several cities. Universal Beijing Resort was closed for almost two months before reopening on June 25
The resort originally announced its reopening last June 15, but was forced to postpone it due to a new wave of COVID-19 cases in the city. Opening in September 2021, the resort includes a CityWalk, two hotels and a Universal Studios theme park.
