Update On COVID-19 As Of October 31: 3,143 New Cases, DKI Jakarta Contributes 750 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. Of the 29,001 specimens examined, 3,143 new cases were added.

"So, the total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 410,088 people," as quoted from data from the Ministry of Health, Saturday, October 31.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health also announced that there was an increase in the number of recovered patients by 3,506 people so that the accumulated number reached 337,801 people. Meanwhile, the number of patients who have died from COVID-19 continues to grow. As of today, 87 people have died, bringing the total accumulation to 13,869 people.

Data from the Ministry of Health also recorded that there were five provinces that had the most cases additions. DKI Jakarta experienced an additional 750 positive COVID-19 patients and a recovery rate of 1,032 people.

Furthermore, Central Java recorded an additional 617 positive COVID-19 patients and 286 patients who were declared cured. West Java there were an addition of 411 people and those who were declared cured reached 289 people.

Next is West Sumatra with the addition of 252 cases and 261 patients who were declared cured. Then, in East Java, there were an additional 223 cases of cases and 226 patients who were declared cured.

Meanwhile, there are four provinces that have not reported additional cases, namely Bengkulu, Jambi, North Maluku and Gorontalo. Then there were also six provinces that did not report the number of recovered patients, namely Lampung, Aceh, East Nusa Tenggara, Bengkulu and North Maluku.

The total number of specimens that have been successfully accumulated has reached 4,517,739 which has been carried out in two ways, namely using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method or the rapid molecular test (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.2 percent," wrote the Ministry of Health in the data.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 67,900 people. Currently, 502 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
