Monitor Tourist Movement, Thailand Will Monitor Through Digital Wristbands
JAKARTA - For tourists who want to go to Thailand, they must comply with a new rule from the Thai government: it is mandatory to wear a digital wristband so that the authorities can monitor tourists' travel and health.
In September, Thailand said it would allow tourists to stay temporarily. As for the conditions, tourists who come must be willing to quarantine for 14 days before moving in Thailand.
Launching The Independent on October 31, tourists who want to travel to Thailand must wear a wristband while they are in Thailand. This wristband is claimed to measure body temperature and if it reaches 37.5 degrees Celsius, the health authorities will get a signal to immediately contact tourists.
In addition, this wristband can be used so tourists can ask the authorities when they are lost. The rules for wearing this digital wristband have been enforced in Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea.
This month, Thailand is receiving tourists for the first time. A total of 39 people who departed from Shanghai underwent quarantine in Thailand for 14 days before traveling in Thailand.
This rule was made so that the Thai economy immediately recovered and tourism became a relatively fast choice. A special visa is also made by the Thai government for those who wish to stay in Thailand for up to 90 days.
With a note, they must have business to include a "fit to fly" certificate from a doctor along with the PCR test results for COVID-19 and insurance regulations in Thailand.
Thailand is one of the countries that is considered successful in reducing the number of COVID-19 cases. Thus, various business sectors have been opened with several health protocols such as social distancing and wearing masks.
