Jusuf Kalla Agrees To Freeze The PMI Management In Banda Aceh City, Not Because Of Chaotic Blood Delivery
BANDA ACEH - Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) M Jusuf Kalla approved the suspension of the management of PMI in Banda Aceh City. This is based on a request from PMI Aceh Province.
"PMI Aceh's move is correct to freeze PMI management in Banda Aceh," said PMI Aceh chairman Murdani Yusuf when confirmed by ANTARA, in Banda Aceh, Monday, June 27.
The suspension letter which was signed by Jusuf Kalla directly numbered 347/ORG/VI/2022 regarding the approval of the suspension of PMI Banda Aceh was issued after a request letter from PMI Aceh Province.
Based on the PMI Aceh letter, the Central PMI finally approved the suspension of the PMI Banda Aceh organization, with reference to PMI's Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART). in articles 82 and 83 concerning the deactivation of management.
With the issuance of the letter, the Central PMI asked the PMI Aceh Province management to immediately carry out the preparations for the suspension of the Banda Aceh PMI organization.
Murdani explained that the proposal to freeze the management of PMI Banda Aceh was not due to the problem of sending blood to Tangerang that occurred some time ago, but there were other reasons that could not be explained.
"No (it has nothing to do with the case of sending blood to Tangerang)," said Murdani.
Meanwhile, the Head of PMI Banda Aceh, Dedi Sumardi Nurdin, deeply regretted the suspension decree because it was considered very tendentious.
According to Dedi, PMI Aceh Province only once summoned all PMI Banda Aceh management to ask for clarification on internal management on 18 May 2022.
Then on the same day, PMI Aceh immediately made a decision to freeze without evaluating the PMI management in Banda Aceh City. There should be an organizational stage that should be carried out, not once called to ask for information, and immediately make a decision to freeze.
"In fact, we administrators have had several meetings with the honorary council to evaluate and improve the internal management, and it will still continue. But suddenly we were frozen without any evaluation," said Dedi.
In fact, PMI Aceh has never once given an official warning to the PMI management of Banda Aceh City.
"We are also confused, what mistakes we made to have to be frozen, regarding the distribution of blood, there has been an audit from the Central PMI and the results are no problems. So where is the problem," he said.
In response to this, Dedi immediately wrote an objection letter to the suspension decree from PMI Aceh Province to restore PMI's image. "We feel PMI Aceh is too emotional in making decisions, and this is detrimental to PMI, whose basic organization is humanity," said Dedi.
