Turkey On Nice Attack: Terrorism Has No Religion

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Turkish Presidency, Ibrahim Kalim, condemned the stabbing incident that occurred near the Notre-Dame Basilica Church, France. According to him, the attack that killed three people and injured several people was a very heinous act.

"We firmly condemn the heinous terrorist attack on the Basilica of Notre-Dame in Nice. We convey our condolences to the French people, ”said Kalin as quoted by Yeni Safak, Friday, October 30.

Kalin added that acts of terror have no religion, language or color. Therefore, he stressed that Turkey is firmly against all types of terrorism and extremism. Luckily, the local authorities later arrested the suspect, taking him to the hospital after suffering serious gunshot wounds.

It is recorded that those who died were one man and two women. The attack extended the list of acts of terror taking place in France amid growing tensions about President Emmanuel Macron's anti-Islamic actions.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, French police also shot dead a man armed with a knife. The man was shot because he wanted to threaten the police in Avignon.

Previously, the cartoon polemic of the Prophet Muhammad had angered the world's Muslim leaders. Some of them are Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. No kidding, Erdogan called for a boycott of French products.

Apart from Erdogan, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan also urged the French government to stop everything that humiliates the Prophet Muhammad. In fact, Imran said, if France did not respond to this issue in a wise and peaceful manner, Pakistan would withdraw its envoy from Paris.
