BENGKULU - The Livestock and Animal Health Service of Bengkulu Province said that it received four thousand doses of imported vaccines for cattle to avoid Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). said that four thousand doses of the vaccine had been distributed to five areas where FMD infected animals were found, namely Kepahiang Regency, Rejang Lebong Regency, North Bengkulu Regency, Seluma Regency, and South Bengkulu Regency. "We have received four thousand doses of imported vaccines from the government and distributed them to areas where cases of FMD have been found," said Syarkawi, quoted by Antara.

He explained that the vaccine has been distributed to animal health officers at the district and city levels and directly injected into healthy cattle.

For areas that have not received the first stage of imported vaccine, so as not to worry, because his party has re-applied the addition of PMK vaccine for Bengkulu Province. "Healthy animals that receive a dose of vaccine form antibodies that will fight the virus in the body," he said.

Syarkawi said that with the distribution of the PMK vaccine, people were asked not to worry and be afraid of the outbreak, because PMK is not harmful to humans.
