Assigned By Megawati, NasDem Is Ready To Welcome Puan Maharani To Meet Surya Paloh
JAKARTA - The NasDem Party is ready to welcome the Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives as well as the Chair of the PDIP DPP Puan Maharani to meet with the General Chair of NasDem Surya Paloh to explore political cooperation. Along with the special task of Puan from the PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri to meet with the general chairpersons of political parties to discuss cooperation in the 2024 presidential election.
"For NasDem, with PDIP, we have been friends in the government for 10 years, so cooperation is not impossible in the 2024 election," NasDem Deputy General Chair Ahmad Ali told reporters on Monday, June 27.
According to Ahmad Ali, during the 10 years together in the NasDem and PDIP administrations there was no barrier to re-collaborating in the 2024 Election. He said that so far there had never been a problem between NasDem and PDIP. "So if Ms. Puan really wants to meet the General Chair, it will be very well received," he said.
Regarding Surya Paloh's statement about the arrogant party, Ahmad Ali added, this right is only a warning for the internal party. Ahmad Ali said, this was not to insinuate PDIP.
"NasDem has never had a problem with PDI-P and has never insinuated or had friction with them. The (arrogant party) statement is a reminder for internal NasDem parties," he explained.
Ahmad Ali also hopes that the meeting between Puan and Surya Paloh can result in good cooperation when they meet. But if not, he said, to understand each other's political decisions.
"Thankfully we can work together, if we can't work together, we can understand each other's decisions so that then there are no strange perceptions. So we respect each other's decisions," he said.
Previously, DPR Speaker Puan Maharani admitted that she had a special task from PDIP Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri to meet with the general chairmen of political parties.
According to him, the meeting was to explore political relations, although Megawati had met with several general chairpersons of political parties at the Palace some time ago. After all, when she was at the Palace, Mrs. Megawati met with all the other political party leaders, but she didn't have the chance to stay in touch," said Puan at the JCC, Jakarta, Saturday, June 25. He said it was only a matter of time to meet with political party leaders.
"Later on, I will also be assigned to the General Chairperson of the Party as Chair of the DPR and will stay in touch with all the chairmen. Yesterday, the National Working Meeting was finished. This event is just a matter of time. I will meet all of them, God willing," said Puan.
