COVID-19 Update As Of October 30: 24,854 Specimens Examined, 2,897 New Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 24,854 specimens were examined, resulting in 2,897 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 406,945 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, October 30.

Cases recovered today increased by 4,517 so that a total of 334,295 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 81 people and a total of 13,782 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 612 new cases and a total of 104,847 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 320 new cases with a total of 35,927 cases. West Sumatra has 301 new cases and a total of 14,285 cases. East Java has 222 new cases and a total of 52,242 cases. Then, East Kalimantan has 205 new cases and a total of 13,975 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Sumatra with an increase of 1,176 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,077 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 356 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 300 cases recovered.

Meanwhile, there are 3 provinces that reported no new cases today. The provinces are Central Sulawesi, Maluku, and East Nusa Tenggara.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 4,488,738. In detail, as many as 4,406,129 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 82,609 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 68,292 people. Currently, 502 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
