Improving Financial Literacy, OJK Educates Sub-District To Village Employees In North Sumatra

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) Regional Office 5 North Sumatra conducted financial education to village employees in North Sumatra. This step is taken to improve financial literacy.

"In June, for example, financial education was given to 100 employees of sub-district, sub-district, and village offices in Deliserdang," said Head of OJK Regional 5 North Sumatra (Sumbagut), Yusup Ansori, quoted by Antara, Sunday, June 26.

According to Yusup Ansori, the financial education program is to introduce financial access information, including how to manage people's personal finances. OJK, he said, hoped that the education would improve financial literacy in the community.

"With knowledge about finance, people will understand more about choosing financial products and services according to their needs," said Yusup.

In addition to educating the public, OJK continues to add Laku Pandai agents so that all 6,110 sub-districts/villages in North Sumatra can have such agents.

With the continued increase in the number of Laku Pandai Agents, the One Village One Agent (OVOA) Program or One Village/Kelurahan One Laku Pandai Agent in North Sumatra can be realized.

Regional Financial and Economic Partnership and Development Analyst, Reza Leonhard, said that the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) will continue to carry out various programs to accelerate the ease of access to financial products/services at all levels of society.

Education on financial planning and understanding of financial product agreements will also continue.

The public, he said, must carefully plan their finances in order to be financially secure, including having to understand products and agreements before buying financial products such as savings, investments, or insurance.
