Ambassador Djauhari Announces Opening Of Indonesian Borders At The China And Globalization Forum
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun conveyed the reopening of Indonesia's border areas to receive tourist visits from various countries in the China and Globalization Forum.
"Efforts made globally and collectively in overcoming COVID-19 have made it possible for Indonesia to reopen its borders to visitors from friendly countries," he said in Beijing, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 25.
In the forum held by the Center for China & Globalization (CCG) in Beijing, the Ambassador also spoke about Indonesia's leadership in the Group of 20 Countries (G20) whose high-level conference was held in Bali this year.
"There are three main things that are assigned to Indonesia as Chair of the G20, namely the global health architecture, digital economic transformation, and energy transition," said the Ambassador.
Several other foreign government representatives also spoke at the forum with the theme "Post-Pandemic Global Recovery: Trends, Challenges, and Responses".
CCG is a leading non-governmental organization based in Beijing that has been granted "official special consultative" status from the United Nations Economic and Social Council (Ecosoc).
The speakers agreed that there will continue to be an increase in interaction between individuals as the number of deaths due to COVID-19 decreases.
In the long term, these developments will open up more opportunities for global economic growth and exchanges between people in the world.
"Bilateral relations between Indonesia and China will also continue to strengthen along with the increasing importance of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," said Djauhari.
