Says Egy Has Been Eyed By 3 Foreign Clubs, Shin Tae-yong: But I Can't Continue To Talk About Which One He Chooses

JAKARTA – Egy Maulana Vikri may continue to play abroad. The 21-year-old has leaked that three clubs are eyeing him.

The player who plays as a winger leaked the interest of the three clubs to coach Shin Tae-yon while they were both staying at the Sultan Hotel, Senayan. Egy went to the coach's room and discussed several topics.

"Egy did talk about team issues, there were two countries offering Egy. From two countries there were three teams offering Egy, but I can't continue to talk about which one he chose," said the Korean coach.

Currently the player from Medan does not yet have a new club after parting with Slovak club FK Senica. However, he chose to terminate his contract due to the club's financial problems.

However, Shin did not specify whether Egy would stay in Europe or move to Asia. In the discussion, the 51-year-old coach did not have time to ask in more detail which club Egy would anchor.

"Maybe it's like that [still playing in Europe]," said Shin.

Currently, Egy is still undergoing the recovery process for the injury he got while strengthening the U-23 Indonesian national team at the 2021 SEA Games Hanoi. The injury ruled him out of this month's Asian Cup Qualifiers.

Shin Tae-yong wishes Egy a speedy recovery and rejoins the team. Moreover, the Indonesian national team will play a FIFA Matchday match in September.

"Egy is talking about therapy, it will take a week to normalize, maybe we will try FIFA matchday to play it," said Shin.
