Anies' Decision To Change The Name Of The Street Is Considered To Be Only A Problem For DKI Residents

JAKARTA - Public Policy Observer from Trisakti University, Trubus Rahadiansyah, assessed that the inauguration of the changes to 22 street names in DKI Jakarta with the names of a number of Betawi figures was not politicized.

He suspects that the name change of 22 streets with the names of Betawi figures is purely political.

"This is only a political interest, to raise the political image of Mr. Anies himself, in my opinion," Trubus Rahadiansyah said when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, June 23.

Trubus said, if you have to change the name of the street to the name of a number of Betawi figures, there are still many streets in DKI Jakarta if you want to change the name.

"Because there are so many streets, if you want to change the name, there are many. I think the community is comfortable with the name that has been occupied," he said.

"Besides, why change the name of the street, in my opinion, identity politics is unnecessary. Because it makes it difficult for the community too. The change will have a broad impact," he added.

Trubus even said that the policy of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, by changing 22 street names for Betawi figures in Jakarta, was a misguided policy.

"Policies are misguided, there is no urgency for what. The arrangement should be, usually people who are under difficulties related to housing and clean water, the DKI Provincial Government should go there. The settlement changes should be arranged," he explained.

Previously reported, the policy of changing the name of Jalan Budaya to the name of a Betawi figure, namely Jalan Entong Gendut in the Cililitan area, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, apparently complained about by local residents.

The reason is, with the policy of changing the name, it actually burdens the residents who live on that street. Residents objected because all population administration such as KTP, KK, SIM, STNK, BPKB and various other securities must also change.

In addition, the process of changing the name of Jalan Budaya to Jalan Entong Gendut without going through deliberation with local residents.

The head of RT 04 RW 05 Cililitan, Kramat Jati, Kamal, said the problem was not because of the context of the changed street names, but the impact on managing residents' personal data files.

"KTP changed, SIM changed, KK changed, ID card changed, STNK changed, BPKB changed, that's bound to change and it takes time and money, of course, to take care of that," said Kamal, Wednesday, June 22.

Kamal said his residents often ask him about this. However, he could not answer that, because he was not aware of the change in the name of the street, which without his knowledge, the residents had inaugurated suddenly.

"This cultural road, there are two urban villages, Cililitan and Batu Ampar, Batu Ampar has submitted an objection, it has been signed by all residents, while Cililitan is still collecting signatures regarding this objection," he explained.
