Anies Has To Bear The Administrative Costs Of Document Changes Due To Changes In 22 Street Names In Jakarta

JAKARTA - After DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan inaugurated the change of 22 street names in DKI Jakarta with the names of Betawi figures, a new problem arose for residents who live in renewable street names. One of them is on Jalan Budaya which turned into Jalan Entong Gendut in the Kramat Jati area, East Jakarta.

Public Policy Observer from Trisakti University, Trubus Rahadiansyah, assessed that the policy of changing 22 street names by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan will have a broad impact on administrative management and other important documents.

"This change has a broad impact. The change in the name of the road actually has no urgency, what is it for? When the policy is implemented, it creates problems," Trubus said during a conversation with VOI, Thursday, June 23.

The problem experienced by the people of Jakarta is the difficulty of managing a number of documents and other population administration. In addition, people are worried about the cost of managing a number of letters and others.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has to bear all the budget. Yes, it has to bear the costs, the administrative costs, get everything free. The provincial government must bear all the costs of changing administrative documents, including other impacts of the name change itself," he said.

According to him, the public will also be bothered with various kinds of documents, including the lack of socialization.

"People are made nervous and they are charged with budgeting. RT RW are also confused about changing documents that need a budget. Ideally, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government when making this policy should be consulted by the public intensively first, what kind of consultation is good," he said.

In addition, Trubus also stated, with the policy of changing 22 street names in DKI Jakarta with the names of Betawi figures, it must be accompanied by regional structuring whose street names have been replaced with the names of Betawi figures.

"Jakarta Provincial Government, after the change, what should be done after making the (street name) change," he said.

For example, continued Trubus, by changing the name of Jalan Budaya to Jalan Entong Gendut, there must be an arrangement in that environment. Arrangement of settlements, the area must be free from flooding, everything must be arranged and transportation prepared for the area.

"It must be accompanied after that (change of name). So there is development, not just changing the name of the road. So it's not just a name change, that's the problem," he said.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had inaugurated the change of 22 street names in DKI Jakarta with the names of Betawi figures. The use of the name of the Betawi figures is an appreciation of the role of these figures in the journey of the City of Jakarta. DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan claims that changing the names of 22 streets in the capital city will not burden Jakarta residents. Because, he said, all road changes have been coordinated with parties related to population data in Jakarta.
