Secretary General Of NasDem Says Schedule To Meet AHY-Surya Paloh Tomorrow To Discuss Presidential Candidates But No Coalition Plans Yet

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the NasDem Party Johnny G Plate said the General Chair of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono is scheduled to meet with NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh at the NasDem Tower, Thursday, June 23, tomorrow.

"At around 11.00 WIB there will be a meeting. And this meeting is getting more intense, another meeting with Pak SBY and Mas AHY," said Johnny at the NasDem Tower, Wednesday, June 22.

AHY's arrival at the NasDem office was to follow up on previous communications. The discussion will be devoted to the presidential candidate for the 2024 presidential election. In which, NasDem already has three names to offer to prospective coalition partners.

"In order to open communication more specifically and openly. NasDem produced presidential candidates during the last National Working Meeting, and meetings to form a political coalition," said Johnny.

Even so, Johnny, who is also the Minister of Communication and Information, emphasized that NasDem and Democrats will not form a coalition for the 2019 presidential election at the meeting tomorrow. The meeting, he said, was only in the context of updating the latest political conditions.

"The coalition has not yet been formed. Meanwhile, the registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates has only started on October 19-25 November 2023 and is still a long time away. The news that the Democrats would visit the NasDem Party had previously been agreed by General Chair Surya Paloh in front of PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu.

"I heard there was news, there was confirmation maybe friends from the Democratic party, maybe tomorrow they will visit here. I'll just hear that we'll confirm again whether it's true or not," said Surya.

Previously, the chairman of the NasDem DPP Willy Aditya revealed that a blue party would visit the NasDem DPP office in Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, tomorrow. However, Willy was reluctant to confirm that the party was the Democratic Party.

Willy said that the NasDem Party consisted of a combination of two colors, yellow, gold and blue. Today, the yellow-gold party, PKS, has arrived at its headquarters, so it's just a matter of waiting for the blue party.
