Sri Mulyani Wants Students Of STAN Dharmakan Science To Help Village Communities Be More Prosperous

JAKARTA – Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani inaugurated a collaboration with the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (PDTT) related to the empowerment of STAN students to assist rural communities in achieving a prosperous life in accordance with the direction of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

"I advise the Village SDGs Ambassadors and all STAN students to prepare themselves, use knowledge to help our community in the village," he said in a written statement on Wednesday, June 22.

According to the Minister of Finance, all students in state schools need to learn more and do not feel satisfied with what they get.

“I ask you to continue to explore knowledge in class, read a lot of news, then think and discuss. You will become a better intellectual," he said.

Furthermore, the Minister of Finance said that STAN students could use their knowledge properly, and then be able to improve important things, from governance to accountability.

"And don't forget, you have to follow the priorities in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Villages PDTT," he stressed.

On the same occasion, the Minister of Villages PDTT said that there were 74,960 villages in Indonesia that received funding, both from the APBN (village funds), PAD (BUMDes) and grants.

“This all requires assistance in the management process. We are grateful that the first SDGs Desa Center was established at STAN,” he said.

For information, this cooperation agreement contains the use of data and information in supporting the formulation of strategies and innovation programs for rural and rural local economic development for the achievement of the Village SDGs.

Meanwhile, the signing of the MoU was carried out by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, Heru Pambudi with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Villages PDTT Taufik Madjid. The Village SDGs Ambassador is here as an effort to activate the role of students in the implementation of the Independent Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM). At STAN, 45 students from 29 provinces have been selected to become SDGs Village Center Ambassadors.
