Hajj Candidates Died Increasingly To 9 People

MEKKAH - Suharno Muhammad Sudjin, a pilgrim candidate from the Jakarta-Pondok Gede 10 Embarkation group (JKG 10) died at the Indonesian Hajj Health Office (KKHI) Mecca.

Suharno (63) is the first pilgrim recorded to have died in Mecca, previously eight pilgrims had died in Medina or on their way to the Holy Land.

Head of the Mecca Work Area (Daker) Mukhammad Khanif in Mecca, Wednesday said the deceased died of cardiac arrest.

"The pilgrims were treated at the Indonesian Hajj Health Office (KKHI) on June 20 at 14.30 WAS with severe comorbidities", said Khanif, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 22.

On Tuesday, June 21 at 21.00 there was a cardiac arrest, CPR and emergency medicine were given. The patient was then referred to Al Noor Hospital in Mecca.

Khanif said that the rescue action was then continued by the Al Noor Hospital team and the KKHI referral team.

"After maximum efforts, the patient was declared dead at 22:28 WAS", said Khanif.
