The Legislative Council Of The DPR Checks The Application For The LLAJ Bill During The Evaluation Of The 2022 Priority National Legislation Program

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Legislation Agency (Baleg) of the DPR RI, Willy Aditya, said he would check the application for Revision of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (RUU LLAJ) from Commission V of the DPR to Baleg.

"The LLAJ bill has not yet been entered into the National Legislation Program," he said in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, June 22.

Willy did not provide further comments regarding the proposed LLAJ Bill from Commission V of the DPR, because he had not seen the letter directly. However, he stated, the Legislative Assembly of the DPR in July will conduct an evaluation of the Priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) for 2022.

"This July, the evaluation will be done. Usually when it is ratified, the Prolegnas will be promoted to the next priority," he emphasized.

When asked whether the evaluation allowed for the amendment of the 2022 Priority Prolegnas, especially since several bills had already been passed into law, Willy again emphasized that he would first check the letter from Commission V.

"We'll see the proposal from the commission, then I'll see the letter first," he promised.

Previously, member of Commission V DPR Muhammad Aras said that his party had sent a letter to Baleg so that the LLAJ Bill would be included in the 2022 National Legislation Program. However, until now there has been no clarity from Baleg.

"Actually, we can discuss yesterday's schedule at the trial, but so far there has been no official letter from Baleg," he said.

The PPP politician said that the LLAJ Bill would not automatically replace the Revised Law Number 38 of 2004 on Roads before it was approved by the Legislative Council of the Republic of Indonesia. Although the Road Bill was passed into the Road Law in mid-December 2021.
