Qualifying For The Quarter-Finals Of The 2022 President's Cup, Persib Coach: We Hope To Play In Bandung With The Spectators Because We Want To Win
BANDUNG - Persib Bandung ensured that they qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2022 President's Cup after a 1-0 win over Bhayangkara FC in the last match of Group C, Tuesday, June 21.
The only goal that was created at the Starling Harupat Stadium was made by David Da Silva in the 35th minute. The additional three points made Persib Bandung topped the Group C standings.
Persib Bandung coach, Robert Alberts, hopes that the quarter-finals of the 2022 Presidential Cup will still be held in Bandung. He also hopes that the last eight matches can be seen by the audience.
"We really hope to get permission to play in Bandung for the quarter-finals, because we want to win," said Robert as quoted by Antara.
As is known, the 2022 President's Cup event which was held in Bandung was marked by a tragic incident. Two Beratoh - as Persib fans are called - died due to overcrowding when they wanted to watch a match at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, some time ago.
As a result of this incident, the final match of Group C of the 2022 President's Cup was finally moved to the Jalak Harupat Stadium. In addition, the match was also held without spectators.
"So we hope to stay in Bandung, play the quarter-finals in Bandung with an audience," continued Robert.
Meanwhile, Persib Bandung player, Achmad Jufriyanto, was grateful that his team was able to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2022 President's Cup. According to him, this was in line with the team's initial target.
"The players are aware of the targets, goals and what we want. Therefore, everyone does that on the field. Even if there is a little fatigue, we can control everything," said the Persib Bandung defender.
