Police Arrest Rp800 Million Counterfeit Money Maker In Bandung, Hunted Order From Jakarta

JAKARTA - The police arrested four perpetrators of counterfeiting Rp100 thousand bills. The total counterfeit money was worth Rp. 800 million.

Kapolrestabes Bandung Kombes Ulung Sampurna Jaya said the perpetrators, namely KP (25), AS (38), AS (57), MRS (26) were arrested after police investigated public reports. The arrests were made in the Gegerkalong area, Bandung.

"The police helped secure evidence in the form of printers up to Rp100 thousand counterfeit bills, which when added up were valued at Rp. 800 million," said Kombes Ulung, Wednesday, October 28.

Ulung said that the Rp. 800 million counterfeit money was exchanged for real money worth Rp. 300 million.

"As for the counterfeit money, the perpetrators had not yet had time to circulate it because the police had caught it," he said.

The four actors have different roles. Starting from printing machine operators to donor seekers.

"The police are still looking for two other perpetrators who are said to be responsible for all activities of counterfeiting the money," said Ulung.

According to him, this counterfeit money was ordered by someone from Jakarta. Currently being investigated by ordering counterfeit money.

"Jaid the buyer is someone from Jakarta and an investigation is being carried out and is being chased by officers, so far we have not found it but we are continuing to develop it," Ulung continued.

The suspects charged under Article 35 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 26 paragraph (1) UURI Number 7 of 2011 concerning Currency and Article 244 of the Criminal Code.
