Sleepy, Suzuki Carry Pick Up Car Almost Overturned On The Tangerang-Merak Toll Road
SERANG – Due to sleepiness, the Suzuki Carry Pick up car had an accident on the Tangerang - Merak Toll Road KM 84,650 A. Luckily there were no fatalities in the incident, only the driver of the Suzuki Carry Pick up car and a passenger were injured. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, June 21, at around 05.20 WIB.
The Head of Sub-Directorate for Gakum Ditlantas of the Banten Police, Kompol Kamarul Wahyudi, said that the Suzuki Carry pick-up car, numbered BA-8003-PA, had 3 passengers including the driver, ER (initials). Kamarul said, the identity of the car that was hit by the Suzuki Carry was unknown. Because, continued Kamarul, when he was hit by a car, he immediately left.
Kamarul said, at the time of the incident, the driver of the Suzuki Carry pick-up experienced microsleep or drowsiness, so he could not control the vehicle. As a result, continued Kamarul, ER hit the car in front of him.
"The driver of the Suzuki Carry driven by ER experienced a microsleep, as a result the vehicle ran out of control and hit the back of an unknown vehicle," said Kamarul in a written statement, Tuesday, June 21.
Kamarul added that in the incident ER and HR were injured. Luckily, the medical officer who received the report immediately came to the location to evacuate the victim to the hospital.
"As a result of the incident, ER and HR were injured and immediately referred to the Hermina Ciruas Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the damaged vehicle was taken to the Ciujung Toll Gate," explained Kamarul.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Pol. Shinto Silitonga, appealed to all motorists to be more careful, disciplined and obey traffic rules when driving. If you are sleepy, Shinto continued, it is better to rest in the nearest rest area.
"We appeal to the entire community to stay alert and careful when driving on the road and always concentrate so that there are no traffic accidents that can lead to fatalities. If you're sleepy, it's better to rest in the nearest rest area," Shinto urged.
