Tangerang City Government Closes Access For Sacrificial Animals From The Region To Prevent PMK Transmission
TANGERANG - The Tangerang City Government (Pemkot) will close off animals from outside the area that will enter its territory. This is done to prevent the spread of mouth and nail disease (FMD).
"So it's the mayor's policy to close the entry of cattle into Tangerang city ahead of Eid al-Adha," said Tangerang City Food Security Agency (DKP) Agriculture Division Head, Ibnu Ariefyanto, Tuesday, June 21.
Ibnu explained that the closure will be carried out on Friday, June 24. The goal is to close the meeting and prevent the spread of the PMK virus.
"On June 24, 2022," he concluded.
This policy was made by the local municipal government after it was discovered that 743 animals were declared infected with Mouth and Nail Disease (FMD) from eight sub-districts in Tangerang City.
The eight sub-districts include Cipondoh, Pinang, Periuk, Karang Tengah, Ciledug, Neglasari, Benda and Karawaci.
"743 are suspected or infected with PMK, yes. (For the most part) there are around 260 Cipondoh, but 7.5 percent have recovered," said Ibnu.
