Malaysia Team Boss Discusses Rider Criteria After Moving From Yamaha To Aprilia, Binder Enters The Count?
JAKARTA - The MotoGP team from Malaysia, RNF Racing, has been confirmed to part with Yamaha from MotoGP in 2023. They will be joining another manufacturer, Aprilia.
The boss of RNF Racing, Razlan Razali, said that his party was starting to look for suitable racers to join. Most likely, Andrea Dovizioso will not be used again.
So what about Darryn Binder? The rider who was promoted from Moto3 to MotoGP is apparently still in doubt by the boss to be able to meet Aprilia's requirements.
"We're not going to take a Moto2 rider to beat Darryn. This is not our style. However, we are not sure about Darryn yet, because there are still many potential candidates," said Razlan as quoted from Speedweek.
There is one name that recently appeared to be recruited by RNF. That rider is the Moto2 2022 leader, Celestino Vietti.
This student of Valentino Rossi is considered suitable because the sponsors of RNF and Aprilia really want an Italian rider.
In addition to the RNF's efforts to find drivers to be brought to the new team. Razlan emphasized his determination to be able to present good results to Aprila.
"We want to achieve results with Aprilia. In the last four years, but especially in the last two years, we haven't given very good results."
"I want to prove to Aprilia that we can immediately bring good results - once we find the right driver," explained Razlan.
